How do I hide my email address when signing up?

An email alias forwards mail to your real inbox without revealing it, so you can turn off any address that starts getting spam. SimpleLogin (by Proton) and addy.io offer free aliases. iPhone users with iCloud+ have Hide My Email built in, and Firefox Relay is free with a Firefox account.
